    The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Administration on Aging web site provides information to older persons and their families, practitioners and other professionals and students and researchers on aging issues.

    American Association of Retired People (AARP)
    AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people 50 and over. They provide information and resources; advocate on legislative, consumer, and legal issues; assist members to serve their communities; and offer a wide range of unique benefits, special products and services for their members.

    Cuyahoga County Health and Human Services Department of Senior and Adult Services
    In partnership with the community, the Department of Senior and Adult Services provides a continuum of services to improve the quality of life for the senior and disabled adult population of Cuyahoga County, focusing on vulnerable elderly and at-risk adults. The site explains the agency's statutory responsibilities and provides of list of services offered and how to access them.

    Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
    The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is the federal agency that administers Medicare, Medicaid, and the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). The site includes direct links to the web sites of each of these major governmental health insurance programs, information for consumers and practitioners, demographics information and local agency contact information.

    Community Solutions Social Indicators Reports: Older Persons
    The Social Indicators Reports provide descriptive information about people, their characteristics and circumstances. Researchers explain the study is relevant to an issue which can be affected by social policy, supplying information that is measurable, has the same meaning over time, utilizes consistent methods of data collection and has readily agreeable meaning. The Social Indicators Reports provide information on the geographic level of social planning areas (neighborhoods) in the city of Cleveland and all the suburban communities in Cuyahoga County.

    Long Term Care Ombudsman
    The Long Term Care Ombudsman (LTCO) serves as a "voice" for residents of nursing homes, residential and adult care facilities, and consumers of in-home services. They serve the Ohio counties of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina. LTCO is a part of a national network authorized by the Older Americans Act and Ohio state law.

    National Aging Information Center
    Affiliated with the Administration on Aging's web site is the National Aging Information Center (NAIC). NAIC serves as a central source for a wide variety of information on aging for older people, their families, and those who work for or on behalf of older persons. NAIC resources include program and policy-related materials for consumers and practitioners as well as demographic and other statistical data on the health, economic and social conditions of older Americans.

    Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation
    The Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) is the principal advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on policy development, and is responsible for major activities in the areas of policy coordination, legislation development, strategic planning, policy research and evaluation, and economic analysis. For Disability, Aging, and Long-Term Care Issues, the site lists the office's current research projects, reports, connected web sites and discussion group information.

    Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging
    The Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (OAAAA), a nonprofit organization, is a statewide network of agencies that provide services for the elderly, as well as advocate on behalf of older Ohioans. The site provides information on locating information on aging for a particular area, extensive links list to aging-related sites, statewide programs for seniors, answers to frequently asked questions regarding aging issues and a legislative agenda.

    Ohio Department of Aging
    The Ohio Department of Aging serves and represents nearly 2 million Ohioans age 60 and older. The Department's role is to advocate for the needs of all older citizens. The site includes information on the department's programs and services, publications, news and information.

    SeniorsConnect.org
    SeniorsConnect.org is a web site designed exclusively for older adults and those that care for and about them in Cuyahoga County. Identified as a priority by the Senior Success Vision Council, and developed by Cleveland Public Library, this web site is designed to increase information access to seniors and to promote computer use by and learning opportunities for seniors in Greater Cleveland. The North Coast SeniorsConnect staff will also develop presentations and small group lessons so that they can interact with the community and increase public awareness for the site. The hope is to foster an online community for seniors to find information, interact and become connected.

    Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging
    Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) is a private, nonprofit organization designated by the state of Ohio to be the implementing Agency for federal and state aging programs in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina Counties. It is one of twelve area agencies on aging in the state organized together with local service provider organizations and the Ohio Department of Aging to form the state's public aging network. The network works together to create opportunities for older Ohioan's to receive needed services and optimum care; and to age successfully in their own homes and communities. The site provides links to aging sites, caregiving help, demographics information, a list of service providers, programs and information on aging issues.
