United Way Services welcomes 10 new members to the volunteer Board of Directors

United Way Services volunteer Board of Directors welcomed 10 new members at the board meeting prior to the Annual Meeting, held at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel. Board members serve two three-year terms. In addition, the Board of Directors approved officers for 2003. Alex Machaskee, president and publisher of The Plain Dealers continues for his second year as chair of the Board.
The 85-member board oversees all aspects of United Way Services, which raised $44.4 million in 2002 for health and human services provided through 129 partner agencies in Cuyahoga and Geauga Counties. United Way also is the convener and a funding partner, along with The Cleveland Foundation, on the Community Vision Council, which is a national model for creating partnering solutions to critical health and human services issues.
