United Way Services of Greater Cleveland forges partnership with GiveNet to offer Internet access

United Way Services of Greater Cleveland is partnering with GiveNet to offer Internet users an opportunity to support United Way by way of Internet access.

GiveNet, a Cleveland-based Internet Service provider, is offering unlimited monthly dial-up access to the Internet for $21.95. Each and every month, a contribution per user will be sent to United Way Services to help provide programs for Greater Clevelanders through our 129 partner agencies. Every year, more than 400,000 Greater Clevelanders are helped by programs provided by United Way agencies targeting health care, families and children, seniors, education and employment and capacity-building.

For example, your contribution can help provide:
• Hearing aid batteries for hearing-impaired people
• A summer picnic for mental health patients
• Memberships for girls in Girl Scouts
• Support sessions for individuals coping with loss of a spouse
• Shopping and banking transportation for a wheel-chair bound people
• Books for an adult learning to read
• Diapers for foster care infants
• Specially formulated nutritional supplements for a dialysis patient
• Breakfast for students at Karamu House's Day Care program

Current Internet users are encouraged to switch to GiveNet and assist United Way Services. In addition to unlimited dial-up service, the benefits of GiveNet include one month of free email forwarding from your existing ISP to GiveNet, fewer pop-ups, five email accounts for family members, toll-free technical support during extended business hours and access to the service from more than 3,000 local access numbers in the U.S. and Canada.
