    Local companies do great things…together in United Way’s Day of Caring at various locations on October 23

    WHAT: United Way’s Days of Caring with Adult Parole Authority, American Airlines, IMG, National City Bank and The George Whalley Company

    WHEN: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2003

    WHO: Nearly 100 volunteers from Adult Parole Authority, American Airlines, IMG, National City Bank and The George Whalley Company are expected to participate in today’s Day of Caring to demonstrate how our local community can become stronger together. Projects include conducting clerical work and helping with grounds maintenance at Hospice of the Western Reserve; painting at the Bingham Day Care Center and the West Park YMCA; cleaning at the Hitchcock Center for Women; and outdoor cleaning and painting at Parmadale.

    WHY:United Way’s Days of Caring give volunteers a chance to gain personal understanding of how their contributions are put to work through a variety of health and human service programs, while completing much-needed projects and/or provide assistance with day-to-day tasks at United Way’s nearly 130 partner agencies.
