The Art of GuitarMania®, a silent auction of original artist renderings, will be held on October 7 from 5:30- 9:00 p.m. at The Artefino Art Gallery Café

More than 300 original artist renderings from GuitarMania® and GuitarMania® II will be auctioned off on October 7 from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Artefino Art Gallery Café, in the Tower Press Building at 1900 Superior Avenue. The artists submitted the renderings as proposals for sponsors. In addition to the silent auction, the event includes interactive entertainment, light hors d'oeuvres and beverages.

Tickets may be obtained at $10 each at (216) 436-2121 or mbattle@uws.org. Payment may be made by check payable to United Way Services of Greater Cleveland, Visa, Mastercard or American Express. A minimum of two tickets must be purchased to charge by credit card.

The Art of GuitarMania® is sponsored by the Artefino Art Gallery Café and the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University.

GuitarMania® 2002 and GuitarMania® II, Encore in 2004, are public art projects initiated by United Way Services of Greater Cleveland in conjunction with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The project consists of 10-foot-tall fiberglass replicas of Fender Stratocaster® guitars sculpted and painted by celebrity and local artists. Most of the 93 GuitarMania II guitars will be auctioned at a gala event on November 6 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Proceeds from GuitarMania II and The Art of GuitarMania benefit United Way Services of Greater Cleveland and the Rock Hall's education fund.
