United Way of Greater Cleveland's Annual Meeting March 10

      February 15, 2006 (Cleveland, Ohio)
United Way of Greater Cleveland's Annual Meeting will take place at the Cleveland Renaissance Hotel on Public Square Friday, March 10 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. More than 1,100 people are expected to attend what will be the largest gathering of health and human service community leaders in our region this year.

      This year's meeting will celebrate:

      • LEADERSHIP: Henry Meyer, Chairman and CEO of KeyCorp will become the new Chairman of the Board and Chief Volunteer Officer. United Way will introduce the co-chairs of the 2006 campaign, Robert Rawson, Partner-in-Charge, Jones Day and Robert King, Managing Director, Western Reserve Partners LLC. Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson will speak.
      • STRATEGY: United Way is leading the way with innovative approaches to community planning in 2006. Henry Meyer, the new chairman of the board, will explain his vision for the future direction of United Way and of health and human services support in our community.
      • COLLABORATION: Important United Way partners celebrate milestones, such as 211/First Call For Help receiving more than 100,000 calls for assistance in 2005. The Community Vision Council (CVC) is celebrating its first five years at the Annual Meeting. During that time, over $21 million has been invested in innovative health and human service solutions in our community. Speaking will be Community Vision Council co-chair Steven Minter and Barbara Danforth, the Executive Director of YWCA of Greater Cleveland and Chair United Way's Council of Agency Executives.
      • The 2005 Campaign: United Way will announce United Way's campaign results and acknowledge those who worked so hard to provide the resources to meet our community's health and human service needs. United Way will celebrate the enormous contribution of Alexander "Sandy" Cutler, Chairman and CEO of Eaton Corporation for his chairmanship of United Way the last two years.

This event will be an opportunity to meet and hear from leaders in Greater Cleveland's health and human service community. United Way is committed to raising more than $40 million for over 175 health and human service programs that touch the lives of 400,000 people each year.

Tickets at $40 each and $400 for a table of 10 are available at (216) 436-2121, mbattle@uws.org or online at uws.org.
