Over 100 Cleveland Clinic employees volunteer for United Way of Greater Cleveland's Day of Caring Event on September 28, 2006
September 25, 2006 (Cleveland, Ohio)
On Thursday, September 28, more than 100 employees from the Cleveland Clinic will renovate Achievement Center's Camp Cheerful, a camp for children and youth with disabilities. Clinic volunteers will help with several projects, including deck staining, painting, making firewood, cleaning cabins and scrubbing walls. "We are grateful the volunteers from the Cleveland Clinic are donating their time and talents to help beautify our cabins and grounds," said Tim Fox, Director of Recreation Services at the Achievement Centers for Children Camp Cheerful. "Their hard work will help us continue to provide unforgettable camping experiences for children of all abilities."
The effort is part of the Cleveland Clinic's annual United Way Day of Caring, a day in which Clinic employees give their time and talent for the benefit of a United Way agency. United Way Days of Caring gives volunteers the opportunity to see firsthand how their United Way contributions impact the community and experience the rewards of giving their time and talent to those in need. Other Days of Caring will be held on October 12 and 26 and November 9 of this year.
