United Way of Greater Cleveland Annual Meeting March 2
February 12, 2007 (Cleveland, Ohio)
United Way of Greater Cleveland's annual meeting will take place at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel at Public Square on Friday, March 2, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. More than 1,200 people are expected to attend what is expected to be the largest gathering of health and human service community leaders in Northeast Ohio this year. The annual meeting will recognize the past year's accomplishments as well as new directions for United Way of Greater Cleveland, the largest private funder of health and human services in Greater Cleveland. The presentations will highlight:
- ASSESSMENT:United Way of Greater Cleveland's Chairman of the Board Henry L. Meyer III will speak on the state of the organization, reviewing accomplishments of the past year and addressing an exciting new direction and expanded mission for this 94-year-old health and human services organization.
- LEADERSHIP:Campaign Co-Chairs Robert H. Rawson Jr., Partner-In-Charge of Jones Day Cleveland, and Robert J. King Jr., Managing Director of Financial Stocks, Inc., will be honored for their spirited direction of the 2006 Campaign. The 2007 Campaign Co-Chairs, Paul Clark, President for the Northern Ohio region of National City Bank, and Philip L. Rice, President and CEO, National City Bank, will be introduced.
- INNOVATION:The Core Services Planning process has reached a milestone with its research phase completed. Eighty core services reports are being finalized and will be available online at uws.org/coreservicesplanning in early spring 2007.
- COLLABORATION:United Way partners have set new benchmarks of community service. 211/First Call For Help handled more than 128,000 calls in 2006-a 100 percent increase in volume since 2000. United Way's Community Vision Council invested over $1.2 million for initiatives benefiting community health, education, employment training, seniors and family programs.
- CELEBRATION:The 2006 United Way of Greater Cleveland Campaign results will be announced and recognition will be given to all those who worked so hard to provide the resources to meet our community's health and human service needs.
This event will be an opportunity to meet and hear from leaders in Greater Cleveland's health and human services community. United Way has committed to raising over $40 million to fund nearly 180 health and human service programs that help over 400,000 people in our community each year.
