Parmadale to Get "Extreme Makeover" from Eaton Volunteers
More than 400 Eaton Employees to Dig, Clean, Weed, Paint, Fix and Build for United Way of Greater Cleveland's Days of Caring Event
July 16, 2007 (Cleveland, Ohio)
More than 400 employees from diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation will help renovate the Parmadale Family Services campus, a nonprofit agency of Catholic Charities Services, on July 30 and 31.
"Over the years we have been blessed by the generosity of many volunteers. This year we are especially grateful to the Eaton Corporation volunteers who will be helping us. Their efforts will improve the environment of the campus at Parmadale for the young people and families we serve," said Tom Woll, executive director of Catholic Charities Services.
Parmadale, located at 6753 State Road in Parma, Ohio, has provided human care services for decades to some of the community's most vulnerable and distressed children and families. The agency offers a range of behavioral health and residential treatment services, as well as foster and adoption assistance to children and families in Greater Cleveland.
"Eaton recognizes the value of organizations such as Parmadale that offer resources to adolescents and make lasting impressions on their lives," said Alexander M. Cutler, Eaton chairman and chief executive officer. "We look forward to this annual opportunity to participate in Days of Caring because it represents our commitment to the communities where we live and work."
United Way and Eaton organized the Days of Caring event as an opportunity for Eaton's employees to give back to the community. Eaton volunteers will be painting, landscaping, cleaning and doing minor construction tasks at the Parmadale campus.
In the past few years, Eaton employees participated in Days of Caring events at Bellefaire JCB in Shaker Heights, Center for Families and Children in Cleveland, and the Cleveland Sight Center.
Media coverage for this event is welcome at any time between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on July 30 and 31. To attend, or for more information, please contact Chip Bonsutto, Parmadale/Catholic Charities Services, at 440-843-5589 or ambonsutto@clevelandcatholiccharities.org.
United Way Days of Caring gives volunteers the opportunity to see firsthand how their United Way contributions impact the community and experience the rewards of giving their time and talent to those in need. Other Days of Caring will be held on August 23, September 27, October 4 and 25, and November 8. A special date may be scheduled if the above dates do not work for your company. Please contact Jessica D. Snyder at 216-436-2123 or jdsnyder@uws.org for more information.
