United Way's Youth Fund Distribution Committee Allocates $50,000 to 15 Agencies

United Way of Greater Cleveland John K. Mott Youth Fund Distribution Committee (YFDC) participants presented $50,000 in grants to 15 health and human services agencies on May 30 in United Way's downtown headquarters. Thirty-seven students from 16 area high schools served on the 2007 committee. The grants will fund a variety of programs for Greater Cleveland youth, including therapy, sports, education, summer camp, health care and emergency resources.
Founded in 1991 by John Mott, a former United Way staff member, the YFDC has grown to become one of the leading youth allocation programs in the country. Through this annual program, high school students make funding decisions to distribute $50,000 to local organizations that serve our community.

- HELP Foundation - Work/Study Lunch Program
- Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry - Youth Re-Entry Tutoring Program
- Matthew's Lending Library - Standing Tall Program
- New Life Community - Hiram House Summer Camp Program for Graduate and Resident Kids
- Shoes and Clothes for Kids - Distribution Program
- Uniforms for Kids - Dress for Educational Success Program
- Youth Opportunities Unlimited - Summer Workshop for TANF Youth in YOU Programs
