Melting Pot Orchestra Concert November 17

Groove to the mellow sounds of the Melting Pot Orchestra in a special fundraising concert on November 17 at the Tri-C Eastern Campus Performing Arts Center. Melting Pot Orchestra is a Christian-based, multicultural ensemble that blends African and Latin influences and contemporary rhythms in a delightful repertoire of gospel, jazz, R & B, classical and popular music favorites. Melting Pot Orchestra is conducted by Dr. Fred Wheatt, and the event will feature special guest emcee Kim Johnson, radio host, WZAK 93.1 FM. All concert donation proceeds will benefit the 2007 United Way of Greater Cleveland Campaign.
Melting Pot Orchestra is best described as an "inspirational music" orchestra. The group was formed by Dr. Fred Wheatt (J.D.) in 2000 and has among its members several distinguished musicians and music educators. Melting Pot Orchestra members have performed with, conducted and/or directed some of the leading names in music entertainment, including Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra, Sammy Davis Jr., Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder, Jack Jones, Patti Paige, the O'Jays, Temptations, Chuck Berry, Akron Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Chamber Orchestra and the Cleveland Women's Orchestra. Top Latin musical performers that Melting Pot Orchestra members have worked with in the past include Celia Cruz, Chivirico Davila, Junior Gonzalez and Oscar DeLeon.
The concert takes place at the Tri-C Eastern Campus Performing Arts Center, 4250 Richmond Road, Highland Hills Village, Ohio on Saturday, November 17, 2007. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Suggested donation at the door is $10 (cash or checks only, please).
